In a strategic move to expand its presence in the golfing community, GreatLIFE Golf is excited to announce the acquisition of two new properties: the Country Club of Mount Dora, located in Mount Dora, FL, and Sapona Golf & Swim Club in Lexington, NC. These latest additions to the GreatLIFE portfolio underscore the company’s commitment to providing premier golf and lifestyle experiences to its members and the broader community.
Country Club of Mount Dora: A New Chapter Begins
Acquired from a private owner on February 28th, the Country Club of Mount Dora will operate as a semi-private facility. GreatLIFE Golf has announced immediate investments into the property, including a new irrigation pump station and pump house, alongside a comprehensive upgrade and beautification of the golf course. CEO John Brown highlighted the acquisition’s unique nature, emphasizing the development of a community feel with the 800+ homes around the Country Club of Mount Dora and the connecting golf cart community of Lakes of Mount Dora, which features 1300+ homes.
The Country Club of Mount Dora is known for its challenging yet rewarding golf course, which boasts water hazards on 16 of its 18 holes and is complemented by its proximity to the vibrant town of Mount Dora. This acquisition is a testament to GreatLIFE Golf’s commitment to enhancing the golfing experience and fostering community engagement.
Sapona Golf & Swim Club: Expanding Horizons
Purchased from the members of the club on January 16th, Sapona Golf & Swim Club will also operate as a semi-private facility. The club is set to undergo significant improvements, including the removal of over 200 trees to open expansive vistas from the clubhouse’s back patio and the introduction of a brand-new indoor golf entertainment space featuring Trackman technology. This championship-style course is celebrated for its unique double green feature for holes #9 and #18, offering a distinctive golfing experience.

These acquisitions increase GreatLIFE Golf’s portfolio to 55 golf courses across 9 States, further solidifying its position as a leader in the golf and leisure industry.
